In exchange for forbidden knowledge and dark power, a witch can offer to ally herself with the Devil. Such a pact is sealed by a ritual during which the supplicant receives the "devil's mark". Marked by the claws of Satan, the wound, which can never heal, serves as a testament to their eternal servitude.
